February "Class-News"
Dear Parents,
As school progresses, we are excited to see the growth the children are making! To further this growth we will soon begin a new activity called the “Game Table” each morning for the children to enjoy. With help from our parent helpers, instead of offering a craft on one of our tables during morning activities we will provide five or six learning games for the children to complete. Each time they finish a task they will receive a sticker on their own personal incentive card. Five earned stickers (two allowed per day) mean a trip to the treasure box (recycled McDonalds, Burger King and birthday party toys). We encourage you help by donating “gently used” toys to help us engender excitement for this new table activity.
The children will have a Valentine card exchange Monday, February 13th. If your child does not usually attend on this day, please plan to have them come so they can participate in this special day. Have your child write his or her name on the back of 17 Valentine cards. Please DO NOT put any of their friend’s names on the envelope (or the front of the card). This is a good opportunity for your child to practice their name-writing skills! Please remind your child to capitalize only the first letter of his or her name. We plan to keep our party very simple and will ask for party refreshments on a sign-up sheet at pick-up/drop-off times.
Please note, on the attached calendar, that school will be closed February 20th for Presidents Day. In addition, we are inviting Grandparents to visit us in class on February 17th from 10:30 to 12:00. This is a half day of school with pick-up at 12:00 (no Student Life will be available on this day). We are looking forward to having a wonderful day with these very special family members. Please check the February calendar for other important dates and information.
Our January testing is complete and we hope the report cards were easy to read and understand. If you would like to speak to us about your child’s progress or any other concerns you may have, please let us know. Otherwise, we will be conferencing with all parents at the end of the school year.
The smiles on the children’s faces and their eagerness to gain new skills certainly are a blessing to us. Thank you for sharing your child with us.
God Bless,
Miss Linda & Miss Jeana
