November 2016 Newsletter
Room C-1
November is the month that reminds us to give thanks for all the blessings in our lives. We are thankful for the children in our classroom who brighten our days when they come to school. We are grateful for all the love and support that you give us.
The themes for the month of November are: Apples, Homes and Families, Thanksgiving, and Transportation. The children will learn four new Zoo Phonics animals. They are: Allie Alligator, Catina Cat, Lizzy Lizard, and Inny Inchworm. We will review the colors that we have already learned, and will introduce four new colors: red, white, black, and purple.
In the month of November, we will begin our “Star of the Week” program. Each of our students will be assigned a week to be the “Star”, and they will have an opportunity to share a little bit about themselves. The children and their parents can decorate a poster with pictures of their family, things they like to eat, places they like to go and activities that they like to do. The Star of the Week student gets to bring one of their special toys and they will have time to share with the class and talk about it. If you child wants, he/she can also bring a special snack to share with the class. We will post on our monthly calendar (that is attached) who will be the Star of the Week. Check your Back-to-School package for more information.
Our Thanksgiving party will be on Wednesday, November 23rd, from 10:00a.m to 11:30a.m. All children are invited; even if it is not their regular school day. This is a half day and pick-up time is 11:45a.m. We will have a sign-up list for our Thanksgiving party soon. If you would like to help during the party please email Miss Jeana at [email protected] . We want to remind you that you need to complete the volunteer form and it needs to be approved before you can help in the class.
